Once you subscribe to RSS feeds, the content will come to you rather than you visiting every website. From a publisher's point of view, this seems a bad idea, but it is in fact a good way to publicize. Consider this example, when you are browsing through the Internet, there are many websites which you intend to revisit. But you rarely do revisit that particular website (maybe you forget to do so or maybe you just don't remember the name of the website). This pattern of not visiting is true for many news websites as well. A stale news is of no use to the reader, as well as the publisher. Through RSS feeds, at least the news is reaching the reader, and there is a chance that the reader may visit the news website once he has had a chance to read the RSS feed. RSS feeds are great tools for attracting many users.

To close, If you own a business, social networking can offer a powerful way to promote yourself and your business for free through building relationships and trust with potential customers.
One of the largest benefits of social networking software is the fact that the company can get news to the consumer in an instant. Telling a consumer that a sale was coming used to mean sending out fliers though the mail or distributing them within the store. This was a costly and slow method of reaching out to the customer. And some of them would still not get the news. But social media provides a way for the company to write a short message that is posted on a social media website which details the latest news on the company. And with the click of the mouse the consumer will know all the information in a short period of time.Every organization I've worked with over the past ten years has shared a common desire, to create a social media campaign that taps their company into the riches that are social media. More often than not the attempt is a flop. It's somewhat like practicing to be spontaneous or getting on stage and trying your luck at stand-up comedy. Can you imagine what a comedy club audience would do to the average guy trying to be funny?
